Stroke victims often suffer from aphasia, a condition that can result in anything from occasional trouble finding words to completely losing the ability to speak or read or write. Intelligence is unaffected.

The therapy.aphasia.com website for aphasia patients has a fabulous section called One-Minute News with news articles that are read at a slightly slower pace for native speakers and followed up by comprehension questions. You may find it very helpful for your intermediate English language learning students. Students can listen and read along and test their comprehension.

There are many more news articles as the site is constantly being updated with fresh content. It's a great website. Hope you find it useful.
